About Long Island

Long Island is located off the southeast of New York State.
It contains the four counties of Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk.
Brooklyn and Queens are politically part of New York City. Nassau
and Suffolk are generally thought to be "Long Island".
Nassau and Suffolk each have about 1.5 million residents, and stretch from the rocky coast of Long Island Sound to the sand shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Besides being know for the rich and famous of the Hamptons, we are known for being a high-tech center. Traditionally a hub from airplane and aerospace construction, LI has transformed into a modern manufacturing mecca. Additional research centers are located throughout the island, including Brookhaven National Laboratory, Cold Spring Harbor, and Stony Brook University. You can find out more about our home at: |
